Hello and thanks for visiting! I’m Belinda and I am a naturopath /nutritionist and mother of two beautiful girls. I have been in clinical practice specialising in women’s and children’s health, hormones and fertility for over 15 years.
After completing my Health Science (Naturopathy) degree, I started seeing clients and loved helping them improve their health. I quickly realised that what many people need is an integrative balance between Naturopathy and Orthodox Medicine, someone who really understood the doctor’s prescriptions, IVF protocols and could integrate that to give them the best health outcomes. It was then that I completed my Masters in Reproductive Medicine at UNSW. From there I really feel that I help my patients achieve optimal health by creating evidence-based, realistic treatment plans that they can incorporate into their busy lives. Balance is incredibly important to me and I want all my clients to feel that even small steps in the right direction can help to create lasting change and not feel as overwhelming for them. It is from this truly patient-centred care approach that optimal health and happiness is created.
I absolutely LOVE what I do and have been looking for a way to reach more women and allow them to take control of their health and fertility for many years. It was from this that I created the Seed iPhone app and the Healthy Hormones book which are like having a naturopath at your fingertips.
The challenges faced by my clients really are so many and varied. I always test my clients (particularly fertility clients and those who have experienced miscarriage or undergoing IVF) extensively and most can’t believe that their doctors and specialists haven’t already completed half the tests that I will organise. I feel it is important to really look into causes of their problems and most often it is a combination of many small issues that need to be corrected to improve their health and help them achieve the outcomes they are hoping to achieve. For example, those suffering miscarriage are only investigated in the medical system after they have suffered through three miscarriages! This is absolutely tragic and I will always investigate and treat as needed from the beginning.
I think that many people are just really beginning to understand that their health, their nutrition and what their bodies are exposed to can make a huge difference in health, fertility and auto-immunity. There is nearly always something that can be done about any of these health conditions so take charge of your health and see a good Naturopath for help!
As most working mothers will tell you, the juggle is real! I was widowed 15 years ago, leaving me to finish university, raise two small babies, start my business and complete my Masters on my own. The craziness is what keeps me going and I try to balance it with yoga, walking my cavoodle and spending time with my family and friends.
I offer private consultations and while I specialise in the health of women and children, I am also experienced in all areas of general practice. I pride myself on providing caring, thorough and professional assessments and integrative healthcare.
I hold a Master of Reproductive Medicine from University of New South Wales; a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) from University of New England; an Associate Degree in Clinical Sciences from Southern Cross University; and, an Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy from Health Schools Australia. I am a member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society.
