My 4 make-up bag essentials and yes, they’re organic and good for you!

It’s not just what we put inside our bodies that’s important, but also we put on our skin. You can read all about what ingredients to avoid here in your skincare and makeup, but what you probably want to know is what’s going instead look to buy makeup and skin care made from 100% natural and organic ingredients that are plant or mineral-based or even food grade.

Ingredients such as cocoa butter, vitamin E, rosehip, Kakadu plum, mica, silica and essential oils are all excellent and have various skin-beautifying properties.

Be aware that many products claim to be low-tox and organic but may still contain unwanted ingredients so do your research and align yourself with brands that you trust. I also look for brands that never test their products on animals and are cruelty-free.

I’ve been spending years looking for and testing makeup that is organic and natural. These are the four products that I am always restocking:

#1 La Mav Organic BB Cream

Why I love it… I switched from regular foundation to this BB cream many years ago and have not turned back since – it gives a medium, matte coverage and is made from Aloe Vera and Avocado Oil and feels so good on my skin!

#2 One Seed ‘Devotion’ perfume

Why I love it… I have been slowly working my way through the One Seed perfume range and just loving them – the scents are Australian-made, long-lasting and simply beautiful – you will forget about your commercial-rich normal perfumes in no time.

#3 100% Pure – Ultra Lengthening Mascara – Black Tea

Why I love it… This mascara has been a staple in my make up bag for years – it glides on smoothly and gives lots of volume and length which I love! It doesn’t smudge and it’s so easy to remove and never stings my eyes like many of the commercial brands do if you rub your eyes or start crying!

#4 Luk Beautifood Lip Nourish

Why I love it… I have a few colours of this gorgeous lipstick, made from 100% real food ingredients (although I’ve never taken a bite!) such as avocado, sesame, citrus, spices and herbs. It’s super creamy, comes in the most divine colours, nourishing on your lips and also suitable for kids and teens!
